Ludvíkov hiking trip

As per the last year’s expedition to Jeseníky mountains, we had planned another trip to achieve the Praděd (1491 m) summit — the highest mountain of Moravia and Silesia regions. We settled in a small hillside village called Ludvíkov with a direct connection to Olomouc by bus. Fig. 1: Ludvíkov cottage outdoors with a wooden bench and riverside of Bílá Opava river. Bílá Opava The very next morning, after we made ourselves comfortable and sociable, we had to get up early (around 6 am) to take a brief breakfast and to catch a bus to Karlova Studánka, where the main expedition started....

Terchová autumn trip

In the last days of October 2022, me and some friends went to Terchová, Slovakia (Žilina region). This in-mountains-situated village is the bithplace of Juraj Jánošík, Slovakian national hero. This article contains a lot of Slovakian names, therefore some parallel wikipedia browsing is recommended for not-native folks. All pictures/photos are mine. Open Transport Tycoon Deluxe

One of my top favourite games of all times is definitely Open Transport Tycoon Deluxe (OpenTTD). I have always wanted to master rail road systems, building huge interconnected track lines along with heavy load being transported continuously. So side-by-side long-distance motorways for trucks, buoy networks for ships carrying oil and passengers, and small-grade airports for the fast mail delivery, I tend to invest the most into railways tracks. gameplay oil rafinery In this one little example, there is a oil rafinery, that acts like a terminus for around 140 trains carrying around 320k liters of oil, and those transporting goods from the rafinery’s other end....

MacBook Pro cleaning

motivation As I primarily used Lenovo Thinkpad p14s as my personal/business work station at a time, I decided to clean and dedust the whole machine. Then, finally try to install GNU/Linux Fedora operating system as Apple dropped macOS support for my old MacBook Pro (MBP) mid-2012 13" non-retina machine. dusty macbook fan Fig. 1: Clogged MacBook ventilator. DVD-ROM drive removal Personally I bought this second-hand machine in around 2014, while wanting to continue using CD/DVD drive (this model, mid-2012 MBP, was the last one where Apple’d offered a builtin DVD drive)....

Oslo winter trip

motivation I have always wanted to go on trip to some very foreign destination, back-packed, and alone-grouped. In the eve of 2021, I decided to give a try to Oslo by buying cheap (circa 100 EUR) flight tickets from Vienna International Airport (VIA) to Oslo Gardermoen Airport. Also, I am a great fan of Scandinavian hyggelig lifestyle, clean architecture and cusine. Also, I am trying to teach myself some Norwegian (norsk bokmål), having my phone’s default language set to Norwegian and English (as secondary lang)....

simple meals

oat meal As for me, oats are an universal meal and/or pre-meal usable for many occassions. I could use it for breakfast, as brunch or lunch, for dinner and supper too. Oats (and fibers in general) allow the body to lower blood cholesterole (LDL) under the physiological limit of 5 mmol/l, and to lower blood sugar under the physiolog. limit around 5.5 mmol/l. I often use it as the festival food, as it is rich in energy and proteins, so one can spend all day(s) at the site without the need to visit some of the junk food trucks....
